Audio Signal Processing II builds upon foundational signal processing knowledge by exploring advanced, creative, and immersive audio effects. Students will investigate time-based, modulation, and pitch-altering effects, as well as experimental and spatial processing tools. This course emphasizes both technical control and creative application, providing students with the skills to shape sound for music production, post-production, interactive media, and immersive experiences.

This module focuses on time-based effects that shape space and depth in audio: reverb and delay. Students will explore various types of each—such as room, hall, plate, and spring reverbs, and mono, stereo, slapback, ping-pong, and multi-tap delays—learning how to apply them creatively and technically in music production and sound design.
This module explores modulation-based effects such as tremolo, vibrato, auto-pan, rotary speaker, ring modulation, frequency shifting, chorus, flanger, phaser, volume shaping, LFOs, and envelopes. Students will learn how to use these tools to add motion, dimension, and texture to sounds, ranging from subtle stereo enhancement to complex rhythmic and tonal transformations across music, sound design, and post-production.
This module explores tools and techniques for pitch shifting, time stretching, harmonization, formant manipulation, and advanced vocal editing using Autotune, Melodyne, and AI-driven technologies. Students will learn how to correct, reshape, and creatively transform audio in music, post-production, and sound design, while preserving natural tone or achieving dramatic effects.
This module explores the cutting edge of creative sound processing — effects that go beyond traditional mixing and mastering tools to redefine sonic identity. Students will dive into experimental and genre-defining techniques, including granular synthesis, glitch-based FX, spectral manipulation, and circuit-inspired audio degradation. These tools are foundational in modern sound design for music production, film, games, and immersive media.
This module introduces spatial and immersive audio techniques, including binaural audio, Dolby Atmos, ambisonics, object-based audio, and head-tracked VR/AR sound. Students will learn how to position and move sound in 3D space to create enveloping, interactive, and emotionally impactful experiences across music, film, gaming, and extended reality platforms.
